General

Nelein Matherin was an Andoran noblewoman, the grandmother of Lord Aedmun Matherin.

She died when Elsie, a maid who works for House Matherin and is four or five years older than Elayne, was little.

Everyone was afraid of her. The maids used to jump if she looked at them, as did other ladies and lords who visited. Even Aedmun used to tiptoe around her temper.

When Elayne is visiting the Matherin manor, Elsie claims that Nelein's ghost appeared right in front of her and scowled furiously.
